Lessons
Whether it’s a lesson on your own horse or one of our lovely schoolmasters, focus will be on developing the feel in order to build a great relationship with the horse. Understanding how horses work physically, mentally and emotionally and how to prepare your body and mind to interact effectively with these wonderful animals.
We’ll use our knowledge and expertise to gently and gradually develop both rider and horse to give a good grounding in the fundamentals so that progression is enjoyable, pain free and unlimited.
We select and breed horses and ponies with wonderful temperaments, good work attitudes and with conformation fit to the task of performing well under the rider for long term soundness.
All our horses are trained to be responsive to light aids and to work in good balance and self carriage.

Spotted as a 2 year old whilst on a stud visit. I just got the sense that this pony was not only special but would have a great attitude for sensible work. And there isn’t a job out there that I think this pony wouldn’t do!
Logan leads out all the young ponies on the roads to give them confidence and he also takes any level of rider and instils confidence in them too. It’s almost impossible to be nervous on this pony. His dressage is lovely and can teach riders all lateral movements, jumps well and will be learning to drive this year also. Logan is a take anywhere, do anything pony who most visitors at Great All Rounders have ridden and want to steal.

A homebred pony who carries our American prefix who was conceived in Florida, born in Kentucky and raised in Yorkshire! OBA is a wonderfully light floaty ride, sensible and calm but with a good engine. She is established in the lateral work, beautiful paces with a canter to die for. She’s a firm favourite with many riders here as she combines her Father’s temperament and agility with her mother’s kindness and action. A perfect blend of loveliness.

Faith is a big girl and total powerhouse of a pony. She is kind and attentive and although it took some time for her to learn how to control that power and to balance under a rider the result was worth waiting for as she is a light floaty energetic ride to be enjoyed. All too often ponies with her build and type would be rushed and then be strong under a rider but for riders willing to learn how to align their balance and embrace the power she is an effortless, light sensitive ride. She is essential for giving people the confidence to embrace the power of the equine and learning to align the power into easy control. A skill that is important for anyone wanting to truly call themselves a rider.

The Spanish in a group of Dales ponies. Naranja is established up to advanced level dressage. Whether it’s a desire to learn to influence a horse through breath control, muscle release and suggestion or brushing up on flying changes or passage this girl can provide the experience! She will tell you if you’re too tense or crooked but if you get everything right and learn to listen to your horse she will give you the best experience.

If you’re lucky enough for this fella to be available when you visit he’s a truly wonderful ride. Often busy with fathering duties these days, but when ready for ridden work he’s a wonderful jumping and dressage pony. Trained to advanced medium level, the smoothest ride and makes everything seem effortless.

Full sister to OBA and not a schoolmaster yet. But if you’re visiting to experience how schoolmasters are made you may get to ride this lovely pony. She’s still learning to balance and align her body under a rider and you will learn how to help a pony to find its balance without “getting in the way”. Luna is a developing into a blend between Logan and OBA temperament and movement wise so I’m sure in time she will be another favourite.
